London | Day 6 | 21.09.2019
I know it’s unusual not to start at day one, but I wanted to start with my postings when I feel comfortable and have time to settle in a bit. Therefore, I start now at day 6. So far, I have moved into my room, bought a pillow and set up the kitchen with my new roommates, because it was completely empty. Which is a little unfair, considering that the international students only arrive here with a suitcase. This afternoon, the enrollment takes place at my university and then all the fun starts. But before I tell you more about it, I would like to tell you a bit about the last days.

I met my roommates on Saturday and Sunday last week. Since we all got along well, we went to breakfast together on Monday at the Breakfast Club in Soho. The music and the food are a real dream in there! Later on we walked to Regents Street to see the „Summer Streets Market“ and to buy a pillow from Marks & Spencers because the dorm rooms have no pillows or bedsheets. As I said … 1 suitcase. Oh well. Fortunately, everything is within a radius of 5 km.

In the days after, the sun was a bit hidden, but we still had great weather. Tomorrow should be 25 degrees for the last time. This means getting up early to see the sunrise and then spending the day in the park in the sun. When I walk from the dorm towards the city center, I would like to take 1000 pictures of the beautiful buildings and skyscrapers on the horizon. I’ve tried to see as many places as possible that I already know this week, so I settle in here faster and do not feel so strange anymore. It worked quite well, but now I am afraid that I might rush through my bucket list too fast.

We did a little photo tour with some of the other students along the Thames. We walked from the campus towards the London Eye and then on towards Tate Modern. We ended the tour with a visit at Borough Market. I will go to all these places more often, but it was nice to get a small overview of what there is to discover here.

I am very curious if everything works with the enrollment today. What I’m studying and what’s coming up in the next few days you will learn next time 🙂
